»Spinning with the spindle« with Chantimanou
Knitting, crocheting, and weaving are twice as fun when you can use handspun yarn. In this course, you'll learn how to spin your own yarn using a handspindle. Once you've mastered the basics, with a little practice, you'll soon be able to create a wide variety of beautiful and colorful wool yarns for your projects.
We'll work with hand spindles, which will be provided for the duration of the course, and with ready-to-spin sheep's wool. You'll learn how to spin a single thread and twist it into two strands. We'll also discuss the steps involved in making a good hand-knitted yarn. You can take the finished ball home with you later.
Chantal-Manou Müller, aka chantimanou, has been producing YouTube videos about spinning and all the various steps of wool processing since 2011. She also teaches with passion and humor in both online and offline courses throughout Germany. Preserving the art of spinning is just as important to her as giving interested people the opportunity to develop their creativity with wool.
